Vernazza is the town located in the north-west of Italy. In 1997 the territory called Cinque Terre – the part of the Ligurian Riviera, where Vernazza is located – was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site List due to its exceptional natural and scenic qualities. In order to protect the region properly the national part has been established. The region specializes in sardines that are fished there. The hills around the town are a perfect place to grow vine – Cinque Terre and Sciachetrà are the best known kinds of wines produced there.
