Many people associate ideal holidays with clear, turquoise water, sandy beaches and relaxation in the shade of palms, e.g. in a hammock with a tasty drink. Among the best destinations are Thailand, Brazil or the Philippines. We dream of places where it is always sunny and the tropical landscapes are breathtaking. Such beaches can be found in the tropics, the region of Earth surrounding the Equator. The dream to spend holidays in an exotic paradise can be fulfilled without leaving Europe. Near Berlin there is an artificial exotic island, called Tropical Islands, which can be visited all year round.
