The name of the waterfall comes from the word jump, which in Slovak and Podhale dialect means waterfall, in South Slavic languages a rocky threshold, fault, damming. It is about 25 m high. With a lot of water on the upper edge of the sill, the waterfall collapses, throwing the water shower forward. The waterfall is most effective at the beginning of the Tatra summer, ie in June, when it ejects an average of 880 liters of water per second.
