The Apuseni Mountains, also called West-Romanian is the mountain range of the Carpathians located on the area of Romania. The Apuseni Mountains are a real paradise for those who love hiking. The mountains are famous for beautiful rocky massifs (they consist of volcanic, sedimentary and crystal rocks), attractive landscapes and traditional Romanian villages located at their foot. The villages consist of wooden or brick houses, located on mountain meadows. The locals are mostly occupied in grazing animals, and since not long ago they also provide agro-tourism services.
