Village of Monforte d'Alba (Italy)
Monforte d'Alba is a small town in Piedmont, in the province of Cuneo. The natural amphitheater named after the pianist Mieczyslaw Horszowski and historic buildings, including the Palazzo Scarampi castle, are the landmarks of the town. On the slopes surrounding Monforte d'Alba there are extensive vineyards. The town itself is famous worldwide for the production of Barolo wine. It is made from the dark Nebbiolo grape. It first matures in oak barrels, then it is transferred into vats and finally it matures in bottles for several months.
