Wat Rong Khun Temple (Thailand)

A Buddhist-Hindu temple called Wat Rong Khun is situated in the northern part of Thailand near the town of Chiang Rai. Its construction in 1997 was initiated by the famous Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. The building is called the White Temple and its color is meant to symbolize purity and innocence. The exterior of the temple and most of the architectural details are covered by pieces of glass that reflect light and sparkle in the sun like snow and ice. This strengthens the impression that in front of us there is a magnificent palace relocated to hot Thailand directly from the magical land of eternal winter.
