Town of Zhouzhuang is located in Jiangsu province and is called the Chinese Venice because of the network of canals, over which there are small stone bridges and rows of historic buildings. The origins of this settlement surrounded by rivers and lakes date back to the 6th century BC. Boats are the most popular means of transport in Zhouzhuang. The water town is eagerly visited by tourists who appreciate the unique atmosphere of its alleys, illuminated with traditional red lanterns. There is also a Taoist temple from the 11th century in Zhouzhuang.
