Yachts at the quay in Helsinki (Finland)
Helsinki is the capital of Finland located on a peninsula on the Gulf of Finland. Within the boundaries of the city there are numerous islands connected by bridges and ferry lines. The seaside character of the city is its great advantage, there is not only the most important freight port in the country, but also a passenger one, ferries to all the Baltic countries leave from here. Helsinki has also attracted lovers of sailing, who are happy to moor their yachts here. The waterfront –Eteläsatama – is one of the most important parts of the city, it is the place where sea dogs tired of sailing across the waters of the bay can rest or replenish provisions before the next trip.
