Ortakoy means literarily a "village inside". The Ortakoy mosque is located on the coast of the city of Istanbul. The building was erected in the 19th century, however, the exact date is unknown. The mosque is built in the Neo-Baroque style. It has large windows, two minarets with balconies and is built of white stone. The building’s copula was covered by pink mosaic. In Ortakoy, in Istanbul, many cultures and religions are mixed (Muslim, Christian Orthodox or Jewish).
