Positano is a village on the Amalfi Coast in the Italian province of Salerno. According to the medieval legends, it is the place where a gale and storm stopped pirates who had stolen precious relics and the icon on Black Madonna from Byzantium. Terrified thieves disembarked and left their loot in Positano. There are characteristic buildings in the village: there are rows of colorful houses build on green hills with a beautiful sea view. Positano is currently a favorite destination for those in love and the newlyweds. The village that is situated on two cliffs may pride itself on planting omnipresent scarlet flowers such as bougainvilleas and betonies.
