Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia located on the Malay Peninsula. Kuala Lumpur is definitely the city of extremes: there are modern skyscrapers in the center and in their close neighborhood there are traditional Chinese-style small houses, whereas highways contrast starkly with narrow streets. Dataran Merdeka is the most representative district of the city and there are numerous buildings of historic, political and cultural significance. Among the Kuala Lumpur’s landmarks there are Petronas Twin Towers reaching the height of 452 meters, which are connected by a 58-meter bridge, the Sultan Abdul Samad Palace and monuments of religious architecture related to the Islamic culture.
