Des Moines is the capital of the state of Iowa, it is located in Polk County. The city owes its name to the river of the same name. The headquarters of many companies, including insurance companies, are located in the center of the city. The Equitable Building with a characteristic brown-and-white facade is one of the most recognizable buildings in Des Moines. The property originally belonged to the insurance company named Equitable of Iowa, today it houses offices but also residential apartments. The tower was built in 1924 and is 97 meters high.
