Santorini is a small volcanic island located in the Aegean Sea. Despite its small size, it is one of the most famous and most expensive islands in Greece. Santorini is known for its characteristic architecture, beautifully blended into the raw brown landscape dominated by rocky cliffs. Small houses with white walls were built on the slopes of the hills, whereas the major public and religious buildings were crowned with blue domes, which refer to the picturesque blue sea surrounding the island. Thanks to these domes the panorama of Santorini has become one of the most popular Greek landscapes.
