Karlovy Vary lies in the west of the Czech Republic and is the most famous Czech spa. The river Ohře and its three tributaries flow through the town. One of them is the river Teplá, forming a kind of an urban canal that divides the town center into two parts. There is a picturesque promenade on the Teplá. The part of the town that is located in the valley of the river is characterized by very dense housing, rows of buildings literally grow out of the mountain slopes. This tourist and spa part of Karlovy Vary is full of beautiful tenement houses, villas and spas.
