Český Krumlov is a small town on the banks of the Vltava River in the south of the Czech Republic. The town that was built in the Middle Ages is dominated by the 13th-century castle, which is surrounded by gardens. There is a magnificent view of the Old Town from the castle’s tower – visitors may admire burgher houses, the 16th-century town hall and the church of St. Vitus. The town has a well-developed tourist infrastructure, there are restaurants, guest houses, hotels, shops and a local brewery, as well as a diverse cultural offer. Český Krumlov boasts museums (such as theater puppets museum), museum of wax figures, graphite mine and historic photographic studio.
