The town of Cordes-sur-Ciel is located in the French region of Midi-Pyrénées in the south of the country. The settlement in this place was founded by the Count of Toulouse, Raimon VII in 1222. The name of the town located on a high hill can be translated as "rocky heights", which of course refers to the unusual location of this medieval town. Tourists visiting Cordes-sur-Ciel are attracted not only with historic buildings, narrow and steep upward streets, but also restaurants offering regional specialties and the Museum of Sugar and Chocolate. The town is surrounded by vineyards.
