Birmingham is a large industrial city located in the English county of West Midlands. Among the tourist attractions of Birmingham there is an extensive network of canals, formerly serving mainly for the transport of various cargoes. The first of them was created in 1769. Currently, the areas around the most important watercourses are aesthetically and functionally managed, thanks to that they attract crowds of tourists and walkers. One of the most often photographed canals is the one on Gas Street, the first street in the city that had gas lighting. There are numerous cafes, clubs and restaurants. In order to enjoy time on the canals you can rent boats or taka a cruise on a board of a small ship.
