Atlanta is located in the county of Fulton in the US state of Georgia, of which it is the capital. This large and dynamically developing metropolis was created in the areas originally inhabited by the Indian tribe of Muscogee. The city began to develop around the railway line, the construction of which began in 1836. Downtown Atlanta is dominated by exclusive hotels and futuristic skyscrapers towering over the intersection of I-75 and I-20 expressways. The highest building in the city is the 312-meter Bank of America. In addition to being an important business center, Atlanta boasts a large number of museums and city parks.
