Obidos is a small town in Portugal (its population is slightly over 3000 people) on the Atlantic Ocean. The name comes from Latin and means “citadel” (Obidos was built around the former Roman fortified camp). The town has got interesting urban architecture – small buildings are located on both sides of narrow and cramped streets, which often climb steeply upwards. In 2007 Obidos was one of the candidates in the contest, in which the Portuguese seven wonders were being chosen.
