Farfalle is a popular bow-tie pasta, sometimes it is also referred to as butterfly pasta. It is often served in the company of green peas and smoked bacon or Italian pancetta and in a cream sauce. The original shape of farfalle pasta makes it an ideal ingredients of soups and salads. It is formed from thinly rolled pasta, from which small rectangles are cut and pinched in the middle. Thanks to that, farfalle pasta is harder in the center than on its ridged edges.
