El Nido is the municipality on the Philippine island of Palawan. Its name originates from the edible nests of the swifts birds (Spanish – “el nido” – nest), which are the basic ingredient of traditional soup. Due to the distance that separates the island from the other Philippine islands, El Nido has a unique unsurveyed nature: clean beaches, lime cliffs, turquoise water and lush vegetation. Nowadays the place is frequently visited by tourists – especially by diving and kayaking lovers.
