Mount Shuksan is located in the North Cascades National Park in the state of Washington, USA, south of the Canadian border. The mountain’s name is derived from the language of the Lummi people, the indigenous population of these lands, and means a “high peak”. Due to its picturesqueness and breathtaking monumental shape, Mount Shuksan is one of the most frequently photographed parts of this mountain range. Pictures with the reflection of the mountain in the waters of Highwood Lake are among the most popular, no matter the season of the year.
