Columbia River Gorge is a canyon of the Columbia River, located on the North West Coast of the United States. The canyon stretches for 130 km and reaches the depth of 1200 m. It is a relatively small but biologically diverse area that comprises various of ecosystems ranging from temperate rainforests in the west to the arid steppes in the east. Due to its natural wealth, the canyon is protected as a nature reserve. It is also a very popular place among tourists, who appreciate the active way of spending time - they can windsurf, kite-surf, hike and cycle.
