The Dolomites are one of the mountain ranges in the Alps. They are located in north-eastern Italy. Steep slopes, high cliffs and vertical walls are characteristic for the Dolomites. This mountain range is particularly attractive for the enthusiasts of alpine climbing. However, these mountains also attract cyclists and hikers who travel the scenic routes that are marked in the valleys. In winter the Dolomites become a paradise for skiers and snowboarders, who can make use of a very rich infrastructure of many centers.
