Small, seasonal fruit of intense color are a real delicacy during the summer months. Their flavor can be preserved in a variety of preserves - jams, liqueurs and syrups. Forest fruits include raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and currants. Forest fruits are rich in vitamin C and anthocyanins, i.e. vacuolar pigments (blue, purple and red) from which our body benefits a lot. Most fruit shrubs have are cultivated now and we do not need to look for treats in forest groves to enjoy their flavor. Interestingly, a popular strawberry is a cross of the two types of wild strawberries.
