High mountain and foothill areas belong to places where civilizational changes appear quite late. Due to relatively difficult natural conditions and geographical isolation from the rest of the world, the inhabitants of these regions are strongly attached to their own culture, traditions and customs. This dependence can be seen in all countries of the world, but it is particularly evident in the Romanian Carpathians, which are among the wildest mountains in Europe. The people there still live like their ancestors, and despite the fact they can use the same devices as the inhabitants of big cities, they prefer traditional values and old lifestyle.
