Cats sleep up to several hours a day. As predators, in this way they regenerate forces and save energy needed for the next hunt. This is a trait that all feline animals have in their genes, therefore endless naps are taken by both wild lions and tigers, as well as domestic cats, fed regularly by the owners. Cats often sleep curled up, but sometimes take funny and seemingly uncomfortable positions, move their paws or snore while sleeping.
