Bay of Kotor is located in the southern part of the Adriatic Sea in Montenegro. It is surrounded by mountains from three sides. It has got a characteristic tongue-like shape and it cuts deeply inland. It consists of 5 smaller bays. The medieval port town of Kotor is situated by the Bay of Kotor. The Bay, which is slightly similar to the Norwegian fiords (sometimes called "the furthest southern European fiord"), has been listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site List. It is possible to cross the Bay of Kotor by a ferry in the town of Kamenari.
