Seward is a port town located on Resurrection Bay in the US state of Alaska. The town is situated at the foot of snow-capped mountain peaks in Kenai region. In Seward harbour you can observe fishing boats returning from catching fish, tourists may also board the cruise ship and admire the fjords and glacier-dwelling animals: seals, sea lions, orcas and whales. The name of the town, as well as the entire Seward Peninsula, comes from the name of William Henry Seward, the US secretary of state responsible for the purchase of Alaska from Russia.
