Yuantong temple in the city of Kunming located in the Chinese province of Yunnan is the Buddhist monument. In the 1950’s the temple hosted the relic of Buddha – his tooth. Due to that fact it became a precious point on the religious map of Buddhists and it is a common destination of numerous pilgrimages. It was built at the turn of 8th and 9th centuries. The building is known for an unusual structure – the front part is higher and it lowers towards the back of the temple. Its location is unusual as well – the building was erected in the middle of a pond.
