Alamo Square is a district of San Francisco in the US state of California. It is situated on a hill overlooking other parts of the city. Alamo Square is famous for its Victorian row houses known as the Painted Ladies. The buildings are distinguished by facades painted in such a way that individual colors emphasize architectural details. Alamo Square district has a large park where the city residents and tourists may walk and rest. It was also the setting of many films and TV series.
