Butter is an edible fat that is made of cream and it is most often consumed with bread in order to bring out and improve its flavor. Today we may choose from a variety of butters – salted butter, flavored butters, light butter, butter mixes that contain also vegetable fat are among the most popular. Real butter of good quality is healthy and tasty, however, it is quite calorific and it is not always wise to replace it with cheaper margarine. Animal fats harden in low temperatures so a lump of butter should be taken out of a fridge a few hours before a meal. It can be also kept in room temperature. Butter is an important ingredient of sandwiches and it tastes best on a fresh, aromatic slice of bread.
