Lake Königssee in the Alps (Germany) online puzzle
Königssee, or Royal Lake, is the lake with the highest elevation in Germany. It lies at an altitude of approximately 600 m above sea level, in the Alps, at the foot of the mountain Watzmann, the slopes of which are picturesquely reflected in the crystal clear waters of the lake. Königssee is a fairly large body of water, taking into account its mountain location. The lake is 8 km long and its depth reaches 190 m, therefore, it is allowed to use electric-powered passenger ships on its surface. However, it is impossible to organize trips on your own, because the area is located within the national park and is subject to legal protection as a nature reserve. Despite this fact, boats sail regularly and it is easy to book a place on a ship. The cruise itself allows visitors to explore this beautiful lake and its surroundings.
