The Dunajec is a river formed from the confluence of the two smaller rivers: the White and Black Dunajec. It is 247 km long and is a right tributary of the Vistula river. It flows through southern Poland and its short stretch forms a part of the border between Poland and Slovakia. The main towns situated on the Dunajec are Nowy Targ, Czorsztyn, Niedzica Nowy Sącz and Tarnów. The Dunajec River Gorge is the pride of the Pieniny National Park. Tourists may go rafting on the Dunajec on both the Polish and Slovak side of the river.
