Soča is the river flowing through Slovenia and Italy. It has its sources in the Julian Alps and it finishes its course in the Gulf of Venice. The total length of the river equals about 140 km. It is possible to admire beautiful landscapes from the Soča River - from mountainous bergshrunds and canyons to flat areas by the Adriatic Sea. The Soča River was the place where important military actions were undertaken twice in history: in 1500 Leonardo da Vinci himself created plans of fortifications on the river in case of Turkish invasion. During the World War I there were many battles fought by the river.
