A drawing-plan from the work of Georg Braun & Frans Hogenberg "Civitates Orbis Terrarum" (atlas of world-earth cities) from 1581. Braun was the editor of these texts and Hogenberg the engraver. They created 6 volumes of this work containing 546 engravings.
Let's look for objects that we can see today. The line of the old town includes today's Wyszyńskiego streets, Trasa Zamkowa and Aleja Niepodległości.
There is the Odra and the "Długi" bridge - the right one, now one of the main streets - Wyszyńskiego - goes into the city along its line, and almost... a bridge that is part of the Castle Route.
There is a castle. The old town hall at the Sienna market square looks a bit different and is not next to the church. Within the old town, i.e. inside the walls, there is the church of St. John the Evangelist, it is the one on the upper right corner of the city walls. There is, of course, a cathedral. There is no church below the castle. There are also no city gates. The ones that exist now came much later!
And now I am asking Olanna and other residents of Szczecin to correct it !!!!!!!!!
