Maki-sushi is a kind of Japanese sushi, served in the form of a sliced rice roll wrapped in pressed nori (sea algae), often with the accompaniment in the form of wasabi (Japanese horse radish), marinated ginger and soya sauce. A rolled bamboo mat is used for wrapping, then it is sliced into smaller pieces (their length must be shorter than the diameter). Maki-sushi is made with seafood and vegetables. Such meals are divided in accordance to their size into: small (2-3 cm), medium (3-4 cm) and large (4-6cm).
