Reszel is a charming town in Mrągowo Lake District in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The origins of this small town date back to the 13th century and are associated with the history of the Teutonic Order. There is the 14th-century castle in Reszel, it is picturesquely situated on the river Sajna. The fortress originally belonged to the bishops of Warmia, then it was a prison. Today it houses a branch of the Museum of Warmia and Masuria with a gallery of contemporary art, hotel and restaurant. The parish church of St. Peter and Paul, the 18th-century granary, orthodox church and the classicist town hall are also the pride of Reszel.
