The charming village of Saorge lies in the south-east of France, in the department of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. The town located on a steep hillside has dense buildings and narrow cobbled streets, which picturesquely climb up. Saorge boasts the dome of the square tower of the church of Saint-Sauveur and the seventeenth-century Franciscan monastery, in which there are nine unique sundials, as well as Italian and English style gardens. Some houses in Saorge date back from the fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
