Nuremberg is a large German city located in Middle Franconia on the Pegnitz River. Weinstadel is one of the most recognizable historic buildings in the city. In the past the building was inhabited by the lepers, meals and medical care were provided here during Easter. The prestigious, fifteenth-century building used to serve a function of a wine warehouse, which is referred to by its name. Weinstadel is adjacent to the historic Wasserturm water tower and a covered sandstone bridge connecting the building with a small island, where the marketplace known as Trödelmarkt was located in the Middle Ages. Today Weinstadel houses a hall of residence.
