Zagreb is the capital and also the largest city in Croatia, it lies on the Sava River at the foot of the Medvednica mountain range. The city has a long and turbulent history that dates back to the 11th century. The historic buildings are the pride of the districts of Gornji Grad, Kaptol and Donji Grad, which can be admired on foot, while wandering along charming, cobbled streets.
