In the moderate climate autumn is the season of the most abundant harvest, when fruits, blueberries, mushrooms and nuts ripen. The gifts of orchards and forests can be consumed not only in a direct way. They are also an important ingredient of preserves such as jams, compotes and liqueurs. Some fruits, e.g. apples and pears, if stored in a proper way will remain the source of taste and vitamins for a long time. It is the same if it comes to nuts, which are most often eaten during the Christmas period. They contain valuable nutrients which aid our memory and concentration as well as provide us with energy and influence our mood. For these reasons they will be a great snack during long winter evenings. Fruits of the forest are full of vitamin C, which improves our immune system. Raspberry or chokeberry juice will help us fight a cold.
