Kaua'i is a Hawaiian island in the Pacific Ocean, known as the Garden Isle, or the Green Island. It has a volcanic origin and its landscape is dominated by breathtaking cliffs, green valleys between mountain peaks and waterfalls. Sandy, golden beaches stretch at its coasts. The island is often struck by hurricanes, so it is not so much exploited by investors and industrialists and thus lush vegetation has been preserved here. The Na Pali Coast, along which there is the hiking trail, is one of the wonders of nature.
