Lemon is a sour yellow fruit that is frequently used in the kitchen. Those that ripen in the area of Sorrento on the Bay of Naples in Italy are considered to be the tastiest ones. Fruits from this region are large and have a thick skin. Their unique taste and aroma are reportedly influenced by the soil where lemon trees grow. In the first century of our era it was covered with lava in result of an eruption of Mount Vesuvius – it enriched its composition.
