Hospital of the Holy Spirit in Nuremberg (Germany)
The building of Nuremberg City Hospital was opened in the first half of the 14th century. The hospital, partly located directly above the current of one of the branches of the Pegnitz River, was erected on the initiative of the wealthy burgher Konrad Groß, over time a chapel of All Saints and a pharmacy were added. The crown jewels were kept in the building from the 15th century to the last years of the 18th century. Today, the historic building of the Holy Spirit Hospital with a characteristic pointed tower crowning the bay window is the pride of the Nuremberg Old Town. Its interiors include an elegant restaurant and a nursing home.
