Point Vincente is a lighthouse in the city of Rancho Palos Verdes in the state of California. It was built in 1926 and has been operating until the present day – it sends two light signals every twenty seconds. It is possible to visit the lighthouse on every second Saturday every month. Point Vincente lighthouse is a frequently photographed structure, as there are showy palms characteristic for the local landscape. The name of the city translated literally into the “ranch of green sticks”, which can be associated with the trees that grow in Rancho Palos Verdes. It is possible to see Santa Catalina Island on the Pacific Ocean on the horizon, provided the visibility is good.
