The limestone Cotswolds Hills in central England are famous for sheep breeding, quarries and numerous historic monuments. The region is full of charming villages with distinctive buildings, dominated by houses of beige limestone and sandstone. Lower Slaughter, Gloucestershire, is one of such villages. It lies on the River Eye and the 19th-century watermill is its biggest tourist attraction. The village also boasts the 13th-century Anglican parish church.
