Poros is an island located opposite the Peloponnese in the region of Attica. Although it is not one of the most popular destinations among tourists visiting Greece, it is often the destination of one-day or weekend trips from nearby Piraeus or Athens. The town on the island was built on the green slopes of the hill and the walk through its winding, stone streets is an attraction itself, even as an alternative to resting on one of the beaches on the island. While hiking, it is worth seeing the neo-classical clock tower, located in the middle of a pine forest, historic monastery and the remnants of the ancient Sanctuary of Poseidon.
