Round, flour pancakes fried in a pan and served in the company of favorite toppings, are a simple and popular dish, which works well as both a nutritious breakfast and sweet dessert. The dough for pancakes is usually made of flour, milk and eggs. Many countries have their own varieties of pancakes. In the United States, fluffy pancakes are served, sour, yeast pancakes in the east of Europe and thin, wrapped crepes in France. Pancakes can be sprinkled with sauces, or – like dumplings – stuffed with almost any sweet or savory stuffing. They taste very well with white cheese, cream and fresh fruit.
