Assisi is located in the area of the Mediterranean climate – summers are hot there whereas winters mild, which determines the occurrence of particular species of plants. All types of decorative plants have perfect conditions to grow there, provided that they are watered properly. The city is located in the center of the Apennine Peninsula, in the region of Umbria. The oldest traces of settlement there date back to the times of the Etruscan civilization. Assisi is located near the characteristic hill and that was one of the reasons that the settlement was created there in the ancient times.
